Who this is for

Does this sound like your situation?

New mortgage holders

Just taken out a mortgage? This is the ideal time to put protection in place — your cover can be structured to match your mortgage balance.

Parents and families

If others depend on your income, protection ensures they won't face financial hardship if you're unable to work or no longer here.

Self-employed people

Without employer sick pay, you're particularly exposed if you can't work. Income protection is especially important for the self-employed.

Those reviewing existing cover

Had the same policy for years? Your circumstances may have changed significantly. I'll review what you have and make sure it still fits.

People with health conditions

Don't assume you can't get cover. There are specialist insurers who cater for people with pre-existing conditions.

Business owners

I can also advise on business protection — key person insurance, shareholder protection, and relevant life policies.

Common concerns

Challenges I help people overcome

The challenge

I know I should have protection but I keep putting it off because it feels complicated.

How I help

I make the process straightforward. We have one honest conversation about your situation, I research the market, and I present you with clear options. Most people are set up within a week.

The challenge

I'm worried protection will be too expensive.

How I help

Protection is often far more affordable than people expect. I'll find the right level of cover at the most competitive price — and help you prioritise if budget is a consideration.

The challenge

I have a pre-existing health condition and assume I can't get cover.

How I help

Many conditions can still be covered, sometimes with an exclusion or a slightly higher premium. I work with specialist insurers who take a more flexible approach.

The challenge

I'm not sure what type of cover I actually need.

How I help

That's exactly what I'm here for. I'll ask the right questions to understand your situation and recommend cover that's genuinely appropriate — not just the easiest sale.

My approach

How I help you get the right outcome

I take the time to understand your full situation before recommending anything — your income, dependants, existing cover, and financial commitments.

I search the whole protection market to find the most suitable and competitive cover for your circumstances.

I explain every option in plain English — what it covers, what it doesn't, and why I'm recommending it.

I don't believe in selling cover people don't need. If your existing protection is adequate, I'll tell you.

I help you prioritise if budget is a constraint — ensuring the most important gaps are covered first.

I review your protection whenever your circumstances change — new mortgage, new baby, change in income.

When did you last review your protection?

Most people's circumstances change significantly over time — new mortgage, new family, change in income. A free protection review takes 30 minutes and gives you peace of mind.

Why protection matters more than most people realise

Most people insure their car, their home, and their contents — but not their most valuable asset: their ability to earn an income. If you were unable to work for six months, or longer, could you continue to pay your mortgage? Could your family manage without your income?

The statistics are sobering. One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. One in six people will be off work for more than six months due to illness or injury at some point in their career. Yet the vast majority of people have no financial protection in place for these scenarios.

The right protection plan gives you and your family financial security, whatever happens. I take the time to understand your situation and recommend cover that's genuinely appropriate — not just the easiest sale.

Types of protection explained

Life insurance

Pays a lump sum or regular income to your family if you die. Can be set up to decrease in line with your mortgage balance (decreasing term) or remain level throughout the policy. Essential if others depend on your income.

Critical illness cover

Pays a tax-free lump sum if you're diagnosed with a specified serious illness — typically cancer, heart attack, stroke, and many others. Can be combined with life insurance or taken as a standalone policy. The money can be used however you need it.

Income protection

Replaces a proportion of your income (typically 50–70%) if you're unable to work due to illness or injury. Unlike critical illness, it's not limited to specific conditions — it covers any illness or injury that prevents you from working. Particularly important for the self-employed.

Family income benefit

Rather than paying a lump sum, this pays a regular tax-free income to your family if you die during the policy term. Often more affordable than a level term policy and can be a very effective way to provide long-term financial support.

Buildings and contents insurance

Your lender will require buildings insurance as a condition of your mortgage. I can help you arrange competitive cover alongside your mortgage.

My approach to protection advice

I don't believe in selling protection products people don't need. I'll have an honest conversation about your circumstances, your existing cover, and what would genuinely make a difference to your family's financial security.

I'll help you prioritise if budget is a consideration — ensuring the most important gaps are covered first. And I'll review your protection whenever your circumstances change, so your cover always reflects your current situation.

My goal is simple: to make sure you and your family are properly protected — at a price that works for you.
